Flouride and viral combination component to onset of Type 1

My 25 year old Type 1 well managed son developed type 1 at 4 years of age during a viral episode and taking Fluoride vitamins. He is currently in a viral episode and is very sensitive to the Humalog insulin to the point that I am wondering if there is a potential for reversal during a viral episode with something to counter act the Fluoride effect that closed off the islet cells in the first place. As an RN I have always been suspicious of the combination of factors leading to his onset as well as observed incidence of dx of children in proximity to fluoridated water supplies (towers, wells, etc.) While not a kook by any means, it seems that with the continuing increase of the incidence of Type 1 in the children and general population this should be examined more. Am I totally off or is the dental lobby greater than the medical lobby? And isn't there some study some where on this?
